HIIT FIT

Dream big, start small. That's how we tackle our goals and dreams, so our fitness goals shouldn't be any different! We chatted with Ellie community member, Bethany, about her daily commitment to her fitness journey and how she uses that to get excited about her workouts. Plus, she even sent over a bite-sized HIIT workout that you can follow and get your sweat on!

What inspired you to get into fitness?
I used to run in high school, but my fitness passion grew after graduation. I moved to Florida where I found Brazilian Jiu-jitsu. I’ve spent over a decade training, competing, and teaching various forms of fitness. I’m obsessed ! 🤍


What is your favorite type of workout?

Definitely hit HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training). It’s a great way to get an effective workout done in a short amount of time. 


Do you have a certain workout routine that you follow weekly?
I have a schedule that changes constantly so my fitness routine can be sporadic. I have a rule that I do something at least 20 minutes a day. It could be weights, cardio, etc. It keeps things fun and interesting so I’m never in a rut.


What advice would you give someone just starting working out?
Start small! It’s normal to feel overwhelmed with all the styles and the limits on your time. For example: tell yourself you will dedicate 15 minutes a day, 3 days each week to working out. You can always grow from there!


How do you create balance in your life with working out?
I remember that fitness is part of my self care and promotes my health! It isn’t something I want to skip on a continual basis. That’s why promising a minimum of 20 minutes a day (I can go longer if I want to) takes away the stress of planning and I can’t wait to workout.


What is your favorite part of working out?
The results!! But not just the results you see on the outside. I feel accomplished and proud of my efforts, which continues to motivate me in other tasks throughout the day.

Bethany is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu who has competed all over the nation. She's now a Florida-based Lagree Fitness instructor who also loves to share her obsession for essential oils and holistic healing. Fun fact!
